GIRL GANG

 Last week was a whirlwind.  Started Monday off driving to visit our pals over in Toledo. It was just a little day drip to catch up. I was really hoping to sight see, but I guess there isn't much going on in Toledo. I did get a brief car tour of down town Toledo. I saw this beautiful movie theater they call it the Maumee Indoor Theater.

 Next stop Detroit with my lady friend Hannah. We went to Detroit Institute of Arts and wandered the not so desolate streets of Detroit.

 Wednesday was an amazing experience. Tess,  Genevieve and I went to Kalamazoo to see Kate Nash perform at District Square.  Kate and her girl gang put on an amazing performance. Towards the end of the show Tess, Genevieve, and I (along with a few other members of the crowd) were asked to join Kate on stage. We got to rock out with her. Holy shit. After the show we were able to hang out with Kate and her band in the empty bar.

I am speechless at how awesome of a week I had. I have had one fuckin' awesome summer.

Tess and I went on a little photo adventure just a few streets over from my house. We thought we would put our photo chops to good use and do a mini photo shoot with each other. It was a blast. This little gas station on Wealthy Street in Grand Rapids is perfection. Keep an eye out for more STREET STYLE posts!

Took a trip a few weeks back with my guy and my family. It was a nice little trip to celebrate mothers day. We went to our favorite place, Leland. It is one of the most beautiful places. Leland was a huge part of my early life and will always be monumentally important to me. If you ever get a chance to drive north to Traverse City, make sure you make a stop in Leland.

Fall is already on its way I'm back at school and working at a new store!

I have been working for a boutique down town Grand Rapids for about a year now and still working there too! 

Art Prize starts this week and it will be a riot.

BURLEY PARK

Short post with awesome Ipod touch pictures! Yes!

So it has been a really fast year since my last Burley Park experience.

I will totally have to go again this year.

Burley Park, is this awesome flea market about 30 miles north of the city.

My pops just happens to live in the same town.

The market is such a fun place to go, even if you aren't in the mood to buy.

There are always tons of people to watch, and so many people bring their dogs around.

There is even people selling all sorts of animals. I have seen bunnies, dogs, cats, pigs and goats.

This year I set out with a goal for two items in particular; a Herman Miller chair and a Pendleton blanket.

I made out with both.

Beach Time

 

We made it back into town just in time to enjoy the beer garden at State street.

First trip to the big lake of the season, and believe it or not I didn't make it there at all last year!

Lake Michigan is one of the best things about living in this state. 

So I convinced the bestie to drive out west to go enjoy some sun.

Overall wonderful time, and I swear Nicole was having a good time too.

My Bedroom Retreat

I entered Apartment Therapy's My bedroom retreat contest, and my entry was accepted.
For the past few weeks people have been able to vote on who would win.
I was just excited to be in the running!
They have picked their finalists, and they are really wonderful rooms! So inspiring.
I can't wait to be involved in more contests with my interiors.

The contest has really made me work on my room. I had been hesitant to begin perfecting it since we moved in. But now I really love it, and think it is the better of the rooms in all of the house.
