Flea.

Yes!
It is summer time
& that means time for flea markets
& garage sales!

Luckily we both had Memorial day off and got to take a trip to Howard city.
This flea market is huge. There always have vendors with puppies and kittens.
Corn dogs & elephant ears.
It is always a sight to be seen!

I went home with a few new pieces of fiesta ware and I found a Marushka at a garage sale to add to my etsy site later!

summer in the city

It is starting to heat up here in the little mitten.
It's got me wearing my hair up, and sweating my ass off :)
There is not better way to try and chill down than poppin in Santo & Johnny.

Furniture dreamin'

There are so many smaller items that I want from ikea, but they aren't available online!
Darnit.
Guess I will just have to make a trip to ikea soon

Finds!

Yeah, I know its Saturday!
"Friday Finds" sounds WAY better. Plus I did all my finding yesterday.
I managed to make it out to some thrift stores and garage sales (and get breakfast) before I went to work.
I found a bunch of scarves!
A beautiful dress that fits me great, except in the bust!
I will have to alter it, and I have no real sewing skills. So we will see how that goes.
I will definitely let you know how it goes!
I am looking forward to a whole summer of great finds!

absolute torture.

Waiting to move has been absolute torture. All I do is look at blogs, online window shop (its the worst!) make lists, organize, pack, and WISH WISH WISH of all the things I need to get or the things I can't wait to do in/to my new home! As you know it is a rental. I am in no place right now to purchase a home. I have moved five times since leaving my parents house in 2006. With a roller coaster ride filled with different good and bad room mates, crappy land lords, crappy neighbor hoods, and not making good decisions it has been hard to stay in one place.
Nick and I (his sister too) have been living together for about three years. We moved from our LAST apartment into this house last July. We moved because
our last apartment was a glorified studio. Not glorified in a good way, into a bigger house in the hood.  Our current landlords have not been an issue for us personally, but have been all over our local news! Tons of stories ended up coming out about them screwing the tenants over. It freaks me out! We have been lucky so far, and with only a little more than a month hopefully we get out clean!
Enough with my mini rant. I did not realize I was going to blab this much.

Here is a sneak peak at a few of the thoughts I am having for the new place

Just a little taste of whats to come.
I will defiantly post more!

China Moon Brown

I have been feeling bored with my hair, whats new... So I decided to stop by the local "hair" store and picked up some bleach powder and a nice BROWN hair dye.
The lovely color was named China Moon Brown. This is what happened.
I was not sold until I wore it out a bit. I think I like it!

A few months ago our city finally got an antrhopologie!
How freaking exciting.
This store is just so beautiful and inspiring...and pricey(well for me anyways)
There is just always so much to look at; books, perfume, decor, CLOTHES!

These awesome lights:

&&& the sales girl let me take a few shots!
So beautiful.

enjoy

Eames

I am pretty obsessed with Eames. It is a little frustrating, I talk to everyone about my interest in mid-century design and often times I get blank stares! I love this video.
Enjoy, Jamie

Today we went to the Fulton Street farmers market.
It is located just a few blocks from our new house and a short drive away from our current house.
Just last week the farmers market opened for the first time of the season.
This market was established in Grand Rapids in 1922.

This is a photo from the original market! It is so great to see history of my amazing city.

Believe or not those are not green onions! They are green garlic. We walked past and the gentleman proceeded to give us his sales pitch, oh man! I had to have them. I used them tonight in my creamy pesto, scallop pasta! So good.
I look forward to many more trips to the Fulton street farmers market!
<3 Jamie

Alright, first post! Lets start of with a quick introduction. My name is Jamie. I a 20 something living in a great town called Grand Rapids. I am almost always carrying my camera, and looking for inspiration.
As of late I have had a one track mind.
All I can think about is MOVING.
A little less than a year ago I moved into my current abode. Its a monster of a house, not in my dream neighbor hood. We( my boyfriend Nick and I, you will hear lots about him!) signed the lease of our NEW house back in Feb. We still have about a month and a half to go! It has seemed like a life time. But now we are in the home stretch. I am pretty sure he is sick of hearing my talk about the new house. Now you guys can hear all my ideas and plans!
It is smaller, in a nicer, more convenient neighborhood, and less expensive!!!

This is the living room! I absolutely adore the floors. They have such character.

A dishwasher! I am going to be spoiled!

This bathroom is a little small, but the fixtures and bathtub are all new.
I already have plans for this space!

Next week we have an appointment to view the apartment again. I need to get a closer look at the space. We are down grading in size, but upgrading in...well...everything else!
